Fine Fusee Dial Wall Clock
For your consideration I am delighted to offer this extremely fine example of an English eight day fusee wall clock. This is a high-value piece in extremely good condition and exudes quality in every aspect.
Dating from circa 1895 this lovely English fusee movement has rectangular plates with an anchor escapement and has been fully overhauled so benefits from my three year guarantee.
The oak case has fantastic colour and patination since its restoration with a lovely sheen to it. The lower door retains its working lock as does the original cast brass bezel which has a key operated fully working internal lock to the dial surround. The case also benefits from a side door and stabilising hooks.
The recently restored dial is a particular feature of this lovely clock and has the name of the retailer – F J Hicks, Yeovil – to the dial. The handsome appearance is finished by the original spade hands.
This is a truly stunning clock in gorgeous condition and it’s one of many fusee clocks I have coming onto the market.
In the 1891 edition of ”Where to Buy” Fred Hick”s business was given the following description –
