Fusee Dial Wall Clock – Worthington
For your consideration I am delighted to offer this lovely example of a classic English eight day fusee wall clock. The movement has rectangular plates with an anchor escapement and has been fully overhauled with new line fitted so benefits from my three year guarantee.
The mahogany case has fantastic colour and patination since its restoration. The circular surround is pegged to the back box in the usual classic manner with a side door and lower door to the case. The bezel and glass frame the twelve inch dial and original spade hands perfectly and there is a latch tab to securely lock the bezel in place. The dial is in lovely condition and has been lightly cleaned but left mainly in the condition I found it, with beautiful crazing to elements of it which add to the clock’s character. The paintwork is fully secure with no flaking.
Worthington is a dynastic name steeped in watch and clock-making history in the Burton on Trent area and this clock was made by Thomas Worthington Junior who worked from 175 Station Road and as such dates from circa 1888.
This is a classic looking dial clock in gorgeous condition and it’s one of many fusee clocks I have coming onto the market.
