Fusee Dial Wall Clock, George V

Clockwise is pleased to have for sale a stunning and tastefully restored chain-driven eight day fusee wall clock dating from 1935.

This is a government issue clock complete with the George V cypher to the dial and the gorgeous oak case, with bottom and side door, house the original cast brass bezel. The dial surround is attached in the classic fashion to the main case by four wooden pegs and the 12 inch dial has been tastefully restored; original hands complete the classic appearance. There are original stabilising hooks to each bottom corner of the case to keep the clock in-beat when it is being wound.

Internally the movement has been stripped, overhauled, cleaned and oiled through and is covered by my three year guarantee. The manufacturer’s details and date of manufacture are stamped to the back plate of the movement.

Stockall, Marples & Co worked at Clerkenwell from the 1900s and supplied clocks to government workplaces such as the military, post offices and railway companies.

This is just one of many fusee clocks that I have for sale with more railway and government clocks due soon.

Clockwise specialises in longcase and bracket clocks and with clients from the world of business, film, sport, royalty and aristocracy – yet more than happy with traditional clients – Clockwise has an unrivalled reputation for excellence and superb service.
